Jem & The Holograms / Photos / Project

It seems the current theme is a little out-dated and the script is rejecting some of the stuff I was trying to do in the background but I’ve managed to add screencaptures from Ryan’s movie Jem and the Hologram and hopefully sometime this weekend we will have a new look!

The Boy Next Door star Ryan Guzman has boarded NBC’s event series Heroes Reborn, toplined by Jack Coleman and Zachary Levi. Also cast in the 13-episode event series from Heroes creator Tim Kring is Gatlin Green (Finding Cody).

A follow-up with a new story and set of characters said to take place after the events of the original, Heroes Reborn is executive produced by Kring, James Middleton and Peter Elkoff. Details on Guzman and Green’s characters are not being disclosed, but if the circulated breakdowns for the project are any indication, Guzman may be playing a former military guy while Green could be playing a sweet, popular girl.

In addition to Coleman and Levi, Guzman and Green join previously cast Robbie Kay, Danika Yarosh and Henry Zebrowski. All but Coleman, who is reprising his Noah Bennet role from the original series, play new characters. Matt Shakman is directing the opening episode.

Music News

Ryan Guzman has already proven that he can dance, but can he sing? The answer is not so encouraging.

Speaking to MTV News at a press day for his film “The Boy Next Door,” Guzman said he stepped out of his comfort zone to play Jem’s main squeeze Rio in the live-action “Jem and the Holograms” movie. In fact, he had never (ever!) sung before getting cast in the film.

“I sang for the very first time for ‘Jem and the Holograms,’ which is also very scary because the people I was singing with are unbelievable,” he said.

Okay, we’re sure Guzman actually sounds fine in the film. After all, producer Scooter Braun — the maestro behind Justin Bieber — has already given the soundtrack his stamp of approval. And he knows a hit when he hears one.

Based on the cult Hasbro animated series from the 80s, the rebooted “Jem and the Holograms” will follow Jerrica Benton (played by newcomer Aubrey Peeples) and her rockstar alter ego Jem, the truly outrageous lead singer of band Jem and the Holograms. And Guzman’s character Rio Pacheco is her road manager/love interest. (We can only hope their duet is as epic as this one.)

And just in case you were wondering, Guzman will not be busting moves in the film. “I think I’ve proven my dancing skills,” he said.

The music may be contagious, Jem, but the dancing definitely isn’t.
